Scholarship FAQs 2021
WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO APPLY FOR THE BSEISU SCHOLARSHP?
Candidates applying to universities in the UK who are ordinarily resident in Lebanon, Palestine, Syria or Jordan may be eligible to apply for one of our scholarships.
CAN I STILL APPLY IF I LIVE OUTSIDE YOUR TARGET COUNTRIES?
Our scholarships usually require that you are “ordinarily resident” in Lebanon, Palestine, Syria and Jordan. However, in some cases exceptions may be made. Select scholarships may specify that candidates may still be eligible if they hold citizenship in one of these countries, despite not being ordinarily resident.
WHICH UNIVERSITIES CAN I APPLY TO?
Our scholarships are awarded in partnership with universities in the UK. Please see the list of our partner universities here. We also have partnerships with other organisations offering scholarships to non-partner universities. Please find more information here.
CAN I APPLY TO A NON-PARTNER UNIVERSITY?
Students may apply for universities we do not have partnerships with as long as it is through a partner organisation. For example, we support students at many other top UK universities through our Chevening scholarships.
DO YOUR SCHOLARSHIPS COVER PART TIME STUDY?
No, we do not currently cover part time study. All our scholarships are for full time programmes only.
WHEN IS THE SCHOLARSHIP DEADLINE?
We do not have just one deadline. All our scholarships have different deadlines as all the application processes vary. These deadlines adhere to each institution’s practices and you should check with the university or organisation for specific deadlines.
HOW DOES THE APPLICATION PROCESS WORK?
Most of our scholarships require you to apply directly to our partners. Please find a full list of our scholarships and how to do this on the Apply section of our website.
WHEN WILL I BE INFORMED OF THE OUTCOME OF MY APPLICATION?
All our scholarships have different deadlines and will let know successful applicants know at different times. Successful applicants will not hear from the Foundation directly but from our partner university or organisation.
WHAT COSTS ARE COVERED BY THE FOUNDATION?
Our scholarships vary, but all our awards cover full tuition fees. Some of our scholarships may also cover living costs but please check the details of each individual scholarship.
WHAT TYPES OF SCHOLARSHIPS ARE AVAILABLE?
Our scholarships are awarded in partnership with universities or organisations that are willing to share the costs of your fees. Depending on the award you are applying for, this could be a full scholarship including living costs or full tuition fees only. Please read the Scholarships Information above for further details.
DO YOUR SCHOLARSHIPS COME WITH ANY CONDITIONS? DO YOU REQUIRE ME TO RETURN HOME AFTER MY STUDIES?
We do not require students to return home after graduating. During your studies, we expect regular updates and check ins from our scholars, including academic updates throughout the year.
WHAT COURSES ARE COVERED BY THE BSEISU SCHOLARSHIP?
We primarily support scholars studying STEM courses with a few exceptions in Business and Finance related subjects. Please read through our partner universities and partner organisation pages in full to find out more information.
