”My upbringing in Palestine, combined with the challenges I’ve faced due to financial hardship and my father loss, has deeply motivated me to pursue a career in technology, with the goal of using my skills to contribute to the development of Palestine’s tech industry and financial systems.”
Meet Waa’d…
Waa’d has always aspired to be a leading figure in the fields of programming, systems, and information technology.
Waa’d graduated high school with very excellent grades (96.6%) in the scientific stream. Despite her academic excellence, she faced significant challenges to start higher education as education fees and the distance between her village and the Berzeit university - Ramallah - Palestine, especially after the death of her father, may God have mercy on him. This made it difficult to begin her studies. However, with the support of the Bseisu Foundation, Waa’d was able to overcome these challenges and pursue her dream.
Her commitment to education and her love for technology led her to choose Birzeit University, which is known for its academic excellence in Palestine. She is currently in her second year of the five-year Computer Engineering program, with a strong focus on system programming and various programming languages. Waa’d plans to learn specialized professional certifications during her studies to ensure that she graduates as one of the top students in this high-demand field.
Looking ahead, Waa’d hopes to combine her technical expertise with her interest in IT audit, particularly in the financial sector. She has noted a significant gap in the industry for professionals who can integrate technology with financial auditing. After completing her Bachelor’s degree, Waa’d plans to pursue a Master’s degree at a prestigious university, focusing on auditing and financial systems. She aims to become a professional who complete the gap between programming and financial systems, ultimately contributing to more efficient and secure global financial systems.
Waa’d’s ultimate goal is to return to Palestine after her studies and make a meaningful contribution to her country. She is dedicated to helping build and empower the Palestinian tech community and to guide future generations of engineers and consultants who can make a continues impact both locally and globally.
