“I chose this specialisation because of my love for animals and a desire to understand their nature.”
Meet Shaima…
Shaima was born in Tammun, a Palestinian town in the Tubas Governorate and was raised in the northern Jordan Valley in a place called Khirbet Makhoul, where her parents worked in animal husbandry.
Shaima is studying Veterinary Medicine at An-Najah National University. She chose this specialisation because of her love for animals and her desire to understand their nature and how their bodies are structured, as well as the fact that it teaches how to treat animals that cannot communicate their own ailments.
Shaima chose to study at An Najah National University in Nablus as the specialisation is only taught at this university, and it was introduced there after being discontinued at another university.
Shaima is looking forward to volunteering soon and participating in preserving Palestinian cultural heritage.
In the future, Shaima is interested in pursuing a master's degree, and if the opportunity arose, she would like to study abroad. After completing her studies, Shaima plans to work caring for domestic and poultry animals, engaging in scientific research, as well as working in laboratories and pharmaceutical industries related to animals. She is also interested in exploring various freelance opportunities.
