“I believe that there is an immense disparity in the number of academic opportunities available to students from underserved backgrounds. I strive to help my students achieve their full potential and to not allow their background and situational circumstances act as a barrier to fulfilling their dreams.”

Meet Sarah…

Sarah is Syrian and was born in Ireland but raised in Dundee, Scotland for the first 11 years of her life. Her family then moved to London where she spent the next seven years of her life.

Sarah is now studying Medicine at the University of Manchester. She endeavoured to pursue a fulfilling career and medicine was exactly that - helping individuals in their most vulnerable state. Sarah is grateful everyday for the privilege she has as a student to be able to speak to patients on the wards about their most personal troubles and to hopefully one day treat those problems herself as a doctor.

Outside of University Sarah is involved in lots of teaching. She is part of an organisation known as Medology where they aim to widen participation into Medicine and Dentistry. As a member of Medology Sarah mainly teaches students how to succeed in their medical interviews and hosts in person teaching events in schools across the country. She believes that there is an immense disparity in the number of academic opportunities available to students from underserved backgrounds. She strive to help her students achieve their full potential and to not allow their background and situational circumstances act as a barrier to fulfilling their dreams.

Recently, Sarah participated in a hike over the Lake District in order to raise money for Gaza.
