Chanel has a bachelor degree in mechanical engineering from the Lebanese American University (LAU) where she was awarded the Engineering Excellence Award for her academic achievements.

Chanel explored the decarbonization of space heating in her dissertation and she has worked as a research assistant, energy engineer and energy management consultant through placements and internships.

Her interest in renewables and the energy transition led her to pursue this course at Oxford where she examines interdisciplinary challenges such as climate change, accessibility and acceptability in energy systems.

Chanel hopes to drive forward the net zero goal through the diversification of clean sources and decarbonisation of fossils.
