‘We live in a country that diminishes everything that has to do with mental health. I want to return and work to change this.’
Meet Aziza…
Aziza is a Palestinian who lived in Saida, Lebanon with her five sisters. She speaks three languages: English, Arabic and Spanish.
She participated in scouts and karate, where she won a golden medal for winning the championship in karate (July 2014). She also has won a scholarship to participate in the Youth Exchange Student program where she completed her sophomore high school year in the US (2015).
Aziza received a scholarship from St. Olaf College to pursue a degree in Psychology and Neuroscience. The Bseisu Foundation covers the remaining fees, enabling Aziza to complete her studies in the US.
Completing her degree in 2021, Aziza hopes to continue her higher education in the US before returning to Lebanon and set up her own clinic or non-profit organisations that would help underprivileged people who suffer from psychological illnesses.
