“London is a hub for the digital media and technology players. It's international, diverse, English speaking and gives an opportunity to be exposed to real life industries as well.”
Meet Yara…
Yara was born and raised in Jerusalem and completed high school there.
During her school years, Yara took part in many extracurriculars. She joined the ballet dancing group and played the piano. Yara was also an active member of community and was part of a peace organisation in Jerusalem called “Kids for Peace”. She participated in local conferences both in Jerusalem, as well as international conferences with the Model United Nations (MUN).
Yara chose to study Digital Culture at King’s College London as she found that it is a very broad major and hopes that it will give her a variety of opportunities to work in different fields in the future. Yara is especially interested in Digital Culture as the world is turning into digital service and digital inclusion and this degree will provide her with the skills that she needs to navigate this.
Before starting BA Digital Culture, Yara completed a Foundation year at King’s College London (the King’s International Foundation Programme). Despite completing this programme remotely due to COVID-19, Yara really appreciated doing the Foundation year as it introduced her to the British education system and allowed her to familiarise herself with it before starting her BA. She learnt how to write essays, do research and was given an introduction to her BA course.
Yara has always wanted to study in London and has admired the city and how dynamic it is. “Not to forget that London is a hub for the digital media and technology players. It's international, diverse, English speaking and gives an opportunity to be exposed to real life industries as well.” As a result of this, Yara looked for the best universities in London for her BA and chose King’s College London as it is one of the best universities in the world especially for her chosen course.
