“I find a lot of satisfaction in studying nuclear energy as I think it is a major contributor in mitigating the climate challenge and of shaping the future of our world’s energy.”
Meet Sara…
Sara was born in Lebanon, Beirut, and grew up in the South of Lebanon in a beautiful village until she turned 17.
At the age of 17, Sara travelled to the UK, specifically Birmingham to complete her undergraduate studies. During her undergraduate degree, Sara was asked to represent the Institute of Physics in the Midlands on a special IOP Student Community Panel, responsible for designing activities for a national audience.
Sara studied MPhil Nuclear Energy at the University of Cambridge. Sara says she finds a lot of satisfaction in studying nuclear energy as she thinks it is a major contributor in mitigating the climate challenge and of shaping the future of our world’s energy.
Sara always wanted to study at the University of Cambridge because she knew it would allow her to learn from experts and professionals in the nuclear field. She is very much enjoying her time in Cambridge. The course is very intensive but going well. She also knew that Cambridge would provide her with a bubble of students who are ambitious and motivated, and Sara wanted to be in this type of environment.
Regarding future plans, Sara would like to do a Ph.D and has applied to Cambridge to continue her studies. Sara hopes to apply to Oxford for her PhD as well.
