Scholarships in Malaysia

We are excited to announce that the Bseisu Foundation is now providing a limited number of scholarships to disadvantaged university students in Malaysia. 

Whilst our usual focus is the Arab region and transforming the lives of young people from the Levant who wish to study abroad, we are pleased to have the opportunity to expand our reach and support financially disadvantaged undergraduate students studying at institutions in Malaysia. 

These scholarships support the students throughout the duration of their undergraduate studies, and we are collaborating with two top institutions: Universiti Malaya and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, in order to make these scholarships available to talented and deserving students. These programmes are available to students who fit the following criteria:  

Universiti Malaya (UM): 

  • Available to those studying Geology and/or Engineering

  • Malaysians below 23 years old

  • Excellent command of English and Bahasa Melayu, both written and verbal

  • Showing strong leadership and teamwork skills

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills 

  • University, community or school project experience

  • Community or industry experience

  • Genuine interest in working in the Oil and Gas industry

Scholarship up to 14,500 RM per year

Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM): 

  • Available for those studying Engineering programmes

  • Malaysians under 23 years old

  • Excellent English and Bahasa Melayu, both written and verbal

  • Strong leadership and teamwork skills, and active in extracurriculars

  • Communication and presentation skills 

  • University, community or school project experience

  • Community or industry experience 

  • Achieved STPM/A Levels with minimum 3As (must have passed General Paper) OR Diploma/Matriculation/Foundation Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.00 and above

  • Genuine interest in working in the Oil and Gas industry

Scholarship up to 11,250 RM per year

Both application processes will include an interview, either virtual or in person, during the final stages of selection.
