Our Partnership with AMIDEAST

You may have heard of AMIDEAST recently when they made headlines due to their support of Lebanese student, Ismail Ajjawi who was denied entry into the US at Boston airport despite his acceptance into Harvard and a valid VISA. Ultimately being able to return and begin his studies at Harvard, AMIDEAST’s support of Ismail and other students alike who dream of studying abroad has proven invaluable in many ways.

The Bseisu Foundation partners with AMIDEAST to help provide students with the full, transformative experience of higher education and studying abroad. It is through our support of AMIDEAST, and many other incredible organisations, that we are able to achieve our goals. Founded in 1951, AMIDEAST has a long history of working hard to “strengthen mutual understanding and cooperation between Americans and people of the MENA region and offer opportunities for learning and training”. AMIDEAST uses the power of education to change lives and forge a more peaceful, understanding world.

In simpler terms, AMIDEAST provides individuals and organisations with opportunities and education both in the Middle East, and abroad in the US. In the MENA region, AMIDEAST teaches English through courses offered to individuals at all stages of life, at any age or level.

In addition to this, AMIDEAST also largely focuses on the empowerment of individuals through higher education. AMIDEAST provides insight and advice for students who wish to study abroad in the US and guides these students through the process. It is here that our goals align.

Whilst AMIDEAST takes a leading role in connecting scholars with organisations who are able to provide them with financial support, the Bseisu Foundation supports these scholars studying abroad who are in need of this support. Together, we seek to make higher education available and accessible to students who truly deserve it but who may not have the resources to access it alone.

We are so proud of our partnership with AMIDEAST and the life changing support they provide for so many individuals. If you would like to learn more about AMIDEAST and their programmes, please visit their website here.
