Yazan is extremely passionate about Public Health, stating the opportunity to use knowledge to catalyse meaningful change in a local and international context. His passion comes from a deep interest in healthcare. Yazan would like the chance to make a change to the population’s health outcomes through research-based policies. Public Health is a necessary yet understudied field in Yazan’s region of the world.

“Public Health provides me with a platform to advocate for the health outcomes of vulnerable populations - advancing the literature in public health research and utilizing my time to be able to direct policy-makers and intervention policies is my way of addressing local and global challenges within my capacity.”

Yazan is a football enthusiast and played professionally during high school in the Jordanian first-division club, Al Ahli FC. During college, Yazan was an active member in his school's varsity team and participated in local and international tournaments. Lately, Yazan has been enjoying film-making and using media as a tool to transmit research knowledge, using media as a tool to make science accessible to everyone.

Studying at Cambridge, Yazan sees it is as the institute where world-leading research is conducted. Yazan has also lived in more than 5 countries within the past four years and hopes that living in Cambridge will not only add to his global experience but also allow him to flourish academically and personally.
