Meet Nour…

Nour is a Palestinian who was born in Saida, Lebanon. She attended the American University of Beirut (AUB) and received her BS in Nutrition and Dietetics - Coordinated Program with high distinction.

Her education was funded by the Abdullah Alghurair Foundation for Education. Upon her graduation, Nour received the Penrose Award and the Dean Thomas Sutherland Prize for Undergraduate Excellence. 

Nour completed her dietetic internship at Russell Sage College, Troy, NY for 6 months. She got to explore different fields of nutrition and discovered her passion for public health. 

Nour is currently a Master of Science candidate in Global Health and a research assistant at Duke University. She is also the Co-President of the Global Health Graduate Student Association at Duke. Her research interests include tackling malnutrition, mainly obesity, at a global level. She wishes to continue her education and pursue a PhD in Public Health Nutrition. Nour hopes to make an impact and inspire fellow Palestinian refugees to follow their passion in spite of all the obstacles they face.
