“I am grateful to the Bseiso Foundation for supporting my scholarship, and I look forward to returning and benefiting my country, Palestine, with the knowledge I will gain.”

Meet Mohammad…

Mohammad chose to study MSc Data Science at the University of Birmingham because he strongly believes that data is the oil of the twenty-first century.

He believes that by harnessing the vast amounts of data generated every day across various fields and sectors, we can enhance our own lives, as well as those of others, elevating quality and productivity to unprecedented levels.

Mohammad’s undergraduate degree was BSc Civil Engineering at An-Najah National University. Since then, he has broadened his knowledge base independently, delving into translation and editing (which he is currently teaching online in Iraqi universities), as well as marketing and management. Mohammad’s proficiency in these areas led to his role as a project manager with JOSA, a non profit organisation whose mission is to promote openness in technology and to defend the rights of technology users in Jordan, and Google. Additionally, he has explored data science and AI, the field in which he is pursuing a master's degree right now.

Mohammad aims to contribute to companies and organisations in various capacities. However, in Palestine, there's still a heavy reliance on worker experience over data-driven insights. The ideal approach, he believes, is to integrate practical experience with analytical data for enhanced work quality and results.

He aspires to train these institutions, regardless of their size, on the importance and methods of data collection and analysis. This training will enable them to leverage insights for the betterment of their work quality, results, and customer service.
