A young woman with shoulder-length dark hair and light skin stands outdoors on a grassy area with trees and a street in the background. She is smiling and wearing a light green ribbed sweater, a black belt, and a dark-colored coat with a gray collar.

“Through hard work and determination, I believe that I will be able to create positive change after finishing my studies.”

Meet Jana…

Jana is a Palestinian woman, born and raised in Jerusalem and was fortunate enough to get exposure to the medical fields and healthcare systems both in the West Bank and outside of it.

This exposure allowed her to compare the two systems and see the differences between them. Jana wants to add to the healthcare system through the knowledge and skills that she will acquire in her education.

Jana is currently studying Medicine and Surgery at the University of Central Lancashire. One of the main reasons Jana choose to study Medicine was to give her the opportunity to help people lead more comfortable lives and minimise the difficulties they have to go through, especially when taking into consideration the tough living circumstances most Palestinians have to endure.

Through hard work and determination, Jana believes that she will be able to create positive change after finishing her studies.
