“Eventually, using all the knowledge I will gain in my Bachelor's degree, I would like to pursue a Master's degree in Network and Cyber Security Engineering to make this world a safer place.”

Meet Abdelrahman…

Abdelrahman is from Nablus, Palestine and has been fond of technology, especially computers, for as long as he can remember.

He attended the Islamic Secondary School, where he graduated with a grade of 96.3%. He learned all the ins and outs of computer parts and learned how to assemble those parts to get a working machine. Abdelrahman is currently attending Lehigh University, where he intends to major in Computer Engineering and minor in Computer Science. He hopes to increase his knowledge of hardware and software, both of which will give him the necessary knowledge to pursue higher education. Abdelrahman hopes to achieve his dream of drastically changing the world of computers by making them faster, safer and more accessible.

Abdelrahman is currently enrolled in many extracurricular activities at Lehigh and is an active member of the student community. He is part of Lehigh's Table Tennis club and hopes to excel and represent Lehigh in intra-college tournaments. Furthermore, he wants to help the club organize intra-dorm tournaments to promote the sport on campus. Abdelrahman is also a member of the Middle Eastern Student Union, where he shares his culture with other students. Alongside this, Abdelrahman is also a member of Lehigh's Steel Bridge club, where students design and build bridges and then compete against other schools. Abdelrahman has also taken part in programmes to improve important life skills and is an alumnus of the YES (19-20) and Access 13 programmes (17-19), where he was able to improve his English,  as well as his critical thinking, public speaking and essay writing skills.

Abdelrahman chose Lehigh because of its excellent engineering school, faculty, and research opportunities. During his four years at Lehigh, he plans to research various fields, including cyber security and computer-aided vision.
